  • Garlic grows in soil, in the form of a bulb. Garlic makes flower stalks called scapes.
  • Parsley is a flowering plant in the family Apiaceae. It grows natively in the central Mediterranean area.
  • Parsley's leaves and stalks have properties as a supplement.
  • Garlic produces a chemical called allicin. Allicin gives garlic its odor.
  • According to a study done by Sun and Wang in 2003, allicin can inhibit telomerase activity and induce apoptosis of gastric SGC-7901 cells. Further, Allicin might be more effective than AZT: azidothymidine (a nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor).
  • Parsley is a good source of vitamin K, vitamin C and vitamin A. Parsley also provides folate and iron. Further, Parsley's volatile oil components include: myristicin, limonene, eugenol and alpha-thujene. Then, its flavonoids include apiin, apigenin, crisoeriol and luteolin.
